EUDR what does it mean?
The EUDR (European Union Deforestation Regulation) is European Union legislation that aims to combat deforestation and forest degradation associated with products consumed in the European market.
Main Article of the Standard:
The EUDR seeks to ensure that products traded in the EU do not contribute to global deforestation, whether legal or illegal. To this end, it requires companies selling certain products to prove that their supply chains are not linked to forest destruction.
When does it come into effect?
The European Union Regulation on Products Free from Deforested Areas (EUDR) will come into force on December 30, 2024. From that date, all companies selling regulated products must comply with traceability requirements and prove that their goods do not come from areas deforested after December 31, 2020. Small operators and micro-enterprises will have until June 30, 2025, to comply.

Who does it apply to?

This includes companies within the EU, such as manufacturers, importers, and distributors of regulated products, as well as third-country exporters wishing to sell to the European market.
